This award is given annually to a “new” REALTOR® who has established him or herself as a rising star in the industry and the association, within in their first licensing period (or within their first two years of membership, if greater). The winner of this award is nominated by a fellow BRR member and selected by the Awards Committee — which is an impartial panel made up of past presidents and past winners of other BRR awards.
The Awards Committee reviews all nominations, taking into consideration each nominee’s involvement in the community and participation in local, state, and national associations. The Committee may also refer to association and MLS records to consider the nominee’s industry spirit and business accomplishments, including but not limited to past awards received; participation in the BRR Honor Society; responsiveness to local, state, and national Calls-to-Action; investments made to the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) or BRR’s Foundation; and/or, annual production. There are no minimum levels of participation, investments, sales, etc., required to be eligible.
Nominee Eligibility
- REALTORS® who are members of BRR (including secondary members) with membership in good standing at the time of nomination, selection, and when the award is presented, are eligible.
- Open only to members in their first licensing period, or within two years of membership, whichever is greater. Nominee cannot have held an active REALTOR® membership at another local association within the previous two (2) years, referring to those who may have transferred membership and would not be considered as “new”.
- Nominees must have some level of involvement at BRR since joining, which includes but is not limited to volunteer positions on committees or boards (including Intermountain MLS and the Foundation), outstanding accomplishments and contributions, community involvement, participation in affiliated councils and societies, designations earned, BRR education, events, and activities attended, etc.
- Members of the current Awards Committee are not eligible.
- Members cited for an ethics violation (handled by Idaho REALTORS®) or a license law violation (handled by IREC) since joining/licensure may be ineligible. This would be based on confirmation from Idaho REALTORS® or IREC. (Details of any pending cases are not disclosed to BRR staff or the Awards committee.)
