Following a comprehensive vetting process including candidate questionnaire review and virtual interviews, Boise Regional REALTORS® (BRR) is pleased to announce the following candidate endorsements for upcoming elections in Ada County:
ACHD District 1 – Kara Veit
ACHD District 2 – Rebecca Arnold
Ada County Commissioner District 1 – Diana Lachiondo
“A key component to our advocacy efforts is interviewing and getting to know the candidates that will make crucial decisions affecting Ada County for years to come,” said Michelle Bailey, 2020 President of Boise Regional REALTORS®. “They must demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of growth and other issues important to REALTORS® and property owners. We feel the candidates we’re endorsing meet those qualifications and understand the importance of private property rights, managing growth, and the crucial role REALTORS® play in the local economy and community, especially during all the unpredictable events of 2020.”
BRR’s Public Policy Committee, comprised of volunteer members of the association, invited all of the candidates in the Ada County Commissioners and Ada County Highway District races to fill out questionnaires focused on private property rights and growth-related issues. Of the 16 total candidates up for election, 11 completed the questionnaire and were interviewed virtually by the committee. Based on the responses in the questionnaires and interviews, the committee made endorsement recommendations to the BRR Board of Directors for final review and approval.
“We want to thank our volunteer Public Policy Committee members, and all those who assisted with the candidate endorsement process. We appreciate the time and dedication of these individuals, and their commitment to identify the candidates who are best positioned to address real estate and private property rights issues,” said Gail Hartnett, BRR’s 2020 Public Policy Committee Chair.
Elections will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
“We encourage Boise Regional REALTORS®, as well as the rest of Ada County, to get out and vote this November and support these candidates who’ve received the endorsement of local REALTORS® in Ada County,” said BRR Director of Government Affairs Cameron Kinzer.

BRR’s Public Policy Committee, made up of volunteer REALTORS®, extends candidate questionnaires to various local candidate races within Ada, Elmore, and Gem counties, the areas within BRR’s jurisdiction. Based on these responses, candidates are invited to be interviewed by the committee and share their views on housing, private property rights, education, transportation, and other issues affecting the community. From there, the Public Policy Committee provides recommendations for endorsements which are reviewed by BRR’s Board of Directors for final approval.
