Program/Project Name: Safe refuge for individuals escaping domestic violence
Description: The focus of this program is to support WCA’s safe emergency/transitional shelter program, serving scores of women and children fleeing domestic and/or sexual violence every year. The National Resource Center on Domestic violence reports that domestic violence is often the cause or precursor to homelessness and housing instability for women. This understanding is critical as an organization serving individuals fleeing domestic violence and the surrounding circumstances they may be facing.
Organization Mission: The mission statement of the Women’s and Children’s Alliance is to provide safety, healing, and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault.
