As Memorial Day approaches, the REALTOR® Outreach Committee (one of Boise Regional REALTORS® member-led committees) is proud to announce its latest involvement in honoring and supporting veterans in the community. On May 23rd, members of the committee joined the Idaho Veteran’s Chamber of Commerce to conclude Part III of the Kish family’s backyard makeover.
Recognizing the sacrifices made by veterans and their invaluable service to the nation, the REALTOR® Outreach Committee embarked on this project as a gesture of gratitude and solidarity. The initiative aimed not only to enhance the living conditions of the veteran but also to express heartfelt appreciation for their contributions to the country.
The project involved cleanup of the veteran’s yard, including landscaping, planting, and general maintenance. Additionally, the committee members rolled up their sleeves to provide a facelift for the veteran’s fence.
“Memorial Day is a time for us to reflect on the immense sacrifices made by our veterans and to express our deepest appreciation for their service,” said Terri Harvey, 2024 Chair of the REALTOR® Outreach Committee. “Our committee is honored to have the opportunity to give back to those who have given so much to our nation. Through this project, we hope to make a meaningful difference in the life of a local veteran and show our unwavering support for their well-being.”
The initiative exemplifies the REALTOR® Outreach Committee’s commitment to serving the community beyond real estate transactions. By engaging in philanthropic endeavors and actively contributing to local causes, the committee endeavors to foster positive change and make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and families in need.
The REALTOR® Outreach Committee extends its sincere gratitude to all volunteers. A special “thank you” to BRR’s Elmore County members, Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce, and the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP) for their time, resources, and expertise. Their dedication and compassion exemplify the spirit of service that defines the real estate community.
About the REALTOR® Outreach Committee:
The REALTOR® Outreach Committee works to create opportunities for BRR Members to give back to the community through housing related and community service projects and volunteer efforts. This committee also assists the Boise Regional REALTORS® Community Foundation with their annual fundraising Give Back Golf Tournament. This committee, through its staff liaison, also fulfills NAR’s Core Standards, Section III, Consumer Outreach, by engaging in community activities which enhance the image of the REALTOR®.
