The mission to create more affordable housing for prospective buyers remains a top priority for LEAP and its partners, including the REALTORS® Community Foundation which is contributing more than $350,000 to projects in Ada, Elmore, and Gem counties.
Taft Street Homes, the development in Ada County, is set to move ahead with construction later this month, providing two new affordable rental units later this year.
“Every unit makes a difference in this market,” said Becky Enrico Crum, 2022 Boise Regional REALTORS® President. “While we still have a long way to go in providing housing inventory at all price points, we’re committed for the long term and will continue to pour our resources into trusted partners like LEAP.”
Shannan Berry, 2022 President of the REALTORS® Community Foundation, said, “REALTORS® have donated over $1.8 million in grants since its inception in 1995, and this commitment to LEAP embodies our focus on improving the quality of life for residents in all three counties we work with.”
The project in Elmore County, Falcons Landing, was awarded federal tax credit funding and plans to have development applications along with the approval process finished by May, putting the project on track to begin construction in June.
Gem County’s project in Emmett is still in the design and feasibility phase, and tentatively plans to start construction by 2023.
More information on the groundbreaking for Taft Street Homes will be available by LEAP Housing later this month.
