Idaho REALTORS® recently held a webinar featuring Jason Risch, IR’s legal counsel, which provided some background on the legal concerns around ADA rules and website accessibility for real estate websites. This event was a great reminder to all REALTOR® members, as well as BRR, and we’re committed to making sure our website (boirealtors.com) is accessible to all. One way we’ve done this is by adding the accessiBe solution* to our website, helping us comply with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) . You can see the available accessibility adjustments by clicking the icon in the lower left corner of any page on our site.
As was explained in the webinar, there isn’t clear ADA compliance for website guidance, however it is an important consideration in your website design. If you’re looking for a step that you can take today to help increase your accessibility resources on your website, members are welcome to copy and brand the verbiage and links on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) accessibility webpage.
