There has been recent conversation on homes selling for $1 million or more in Ada County. While yes, there has been an increase in properties selling for $1 million or more, it’s also important for REALTORS® to be aware of a couple key statistics that give additional context to our current market.
Of the 3,992 existing single-family homes that sold in Ada County from January – June 2016, just 15 of those homes sold for $1 million or more, accounting for less than one percent of the market.
227 existing single-family homes sold for $1 million or more from January – June 2021 in Ada County. 3,311 existing single-family homes sold during that timespan, increasing the percentage of $1 million or more homes to 6.9 percent of the market.
While the rising number of such higher-priced homes is somewhat noticeable, it doesn’t indicate a massive influx of $1 million or more homes into the Ada County market.
