November 10, 2018 — Rake Up Boise — Join the RCF as we Rake Up Boise .  This is a family-friendly volunteer opportunity hosted by NeighborWorks. More information is available at nwboise.org/rake-up-boise.

December 7 or 8, 2018 — Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Boxes — The Boise Rescue Mission needs help filling food boxes for the holidays on Friday, December 7th from 4:00-8:30pm, or Saturday, December 8th from 10:00am-1:30pm, at their warehouse at 308 S. 24th Street in Boise. If you’d like to help, please go to boiserm.org/get-involved/holiday-volunteer. Complete the form, and under “Preferred Opportunities” select either the “Thanksgiving Food Box Build” or “Christmas Food Box Build” options. (You can also select any other volunteer opportunities from this form.)

November and December 2018 — Adopt a Red Kettle — How do you put a roof over someone’s head with just one hand? Be a bell ringer. Join other homeownership professionals in Real Estate Wednesdays by adopting an iconic Salvation Army red kettle. Firms who participate in Real Estate Wednesdays adopt and staff one kettle every Wednesday in December. Adopting a single kettle allows the Salvation Army to help 90 people get to work and appointments by providing gasoline vouchers; feed 20 people for one month; or, provide diapers for 48 babies at Booth Marian Pritchett School for one month. Participating firms receive recognition through The Salvation Army website, Facebook page, certificate of appreciation noting the amount raised,  a press release, among other benefits. Contact Pam Grove (pamgroverealtor@gmail.com or 208-871-7678) for more information the Real Estate Wednesday option. The REALTORS® Community Foundation’s “More Than School Supplies” Drive ended Wednesday, August 15th, and once again, our members astounded us with their generosity!

Here are the stats:

  • There were 28 donation sites (including brokerage and affiliate offices, as well as the BRR office)
  • 15 volunteers who sorted donations
  • $100 in gift cards
  • $500 in cash
  • And a total of 2,195 donated items!

These donated items and funds will directly benefit the Boise, West Ada, and Emmett School Districts! Congratulations to the Mike Brown Group at Silvercreek Realty Group for bringing in the most donated items and winning lunch from Baja Fresh!

Thank you to the 18 volunteers who spent 2 hours at the Idaho Foodbank on Thursday, August 9th, 2018. We packaged beans… lots of beans… 4,012 pounds of beans. That will feed 2006 Idaho families!

RCF and REBA Partnered Up to Donate Warm Clothing and Food

The RCF was proud to support the Real Estate Brokers / Agents of Gem County (REBA) in their warm clothing and food drive running during the month of October, supporting the Emmett Valley Friendship Coalition Food Pantry.  Thanks to everyone who donated at BRR and throughout Gem County!
