2016 Annual Membership Meeting Recap

Thanks to everyone who attended BRR’s Annual Membership Meeting on September 29th! In case you missed it, here’s a recap of the day…

BRR’s President Carey Farmer kicked off the meeting sharing our successes so far in 2016. Take a look at the video.

Jane Kramer, BRR’s Bylaws Committee Chair, presented the proposed changes which were unanimously approved by the membership. These changes will go into effect on January 1, 2017.

Kit Fitzgerald, BRR’s Nominating and Elections Committee Chair, announced the winners of the Director Elections, as follows…

  • The 2017 Vice President will be Phil Mount. Phil will serve alongside our other officers, President Katrina Wehr, President-Elect Gary Salisbury, Past President Carey Farmer, and Treasurer Danielle Cullip.
  • The newest BRR Directors will be Bob Hurtt, Debbie Myers, Carolyn Sinnard, and Ed Sperry. They will serve alongside our continuing Directors, Krista Deacon, Bob Van Allen, and Jeff Wills.
  • The newest State Directors from BRR will be Michelle Bailey, Jared Cozby, and Gail Hartnett. They will serve alongside our continuing State Directors, Becky Enrico-Crum, Shirley Koch, Phil Mount, Carolyn Sinnard, Gary Salisbury, Susan Weaver, and Greg Winther.
  • The 2017-2019 National Director from BRR will be Carey Farmer.

Our 2017 officers and newly elected Directors will begin their terms on January 1, 2017.

The morning wrapped up with a keynote presentation by Jonathan Smoke, Chief Economist from REALTOR.com®. Jonathan shared national trends and his forecast for the Boise market, and shared a few of the hottest tracks you should add to your workout playlist!


During the afternoon session, Nobu Hata, Director of Member Engagement from the National Association of REALTORS®, gave a presentation about what buyers and sellers actually need from REALTORS® today, then led the group in roundtable discussions on topics such as marketing, video, CRM and the latest MLS tools.

The afternoon ended with a Social Hour and Committee Fair, giving members the opportunity to explore the various groups with which they could volunteer with in 2017. Committee applications are being accepted online now through October 14 at www.boirealtors.com/committees.
